Gas Prices

I took a photo of the gas prices today when I took Cheyanne and Sarah home.  My last gas photo was taken May 16 – fifteen days ago.  This is ridiculous!!

Week 22 photos

Another week and more photos.  Nothing too exciting –don’t know if that’s good or bad!  I took lots of photos.  I don’t know if I can fit them all on my layout this week and I don’t want to expand it to three pages.

Today was Sarah’s last soccer game and also “fun day” for the kids who played on the team.  I went to the ball field for Sarah’s game.  After her game, they combined the teams into age groups to play against each other.  After the games they had food and drink for the kids.  I brought Sarah and Cheyanne home with me to spend the night.  Here are a few photos.  Nick wasn’t there.  He had hockey practice in Pittsburgh.

Sarah on the deck at my house.

Katie likes to take her balls and push them under the couch.  After she amuses herself trying to retrieve them, she’ll bark or growl for us to get them for her.

I finally started weeding out my 2007 and 2008 files.  When I was done there was a big pile of shredding to do.  Rick helped me with it.

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

I realized I hadn’t photographed any Katie pins lately.  This is one of the spring ones I wear.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Rick clipped some of the peonies from the yard and brought them inside.

Memorial Day.  Rick came home last night and we decided to have a small cookout on the deck.  It was a beautiful day.

A rare photo of me and Katie.

Katie in her Memorial Day finery which she hates.  I didn’t make her where it long – maybe twenty minutes or so!

Rick went 4 – wheeling around Summersville, WV this weekend with Jerald and he took this photo.

Week 21 - May 11-23

I have lots of photos this week.

Saturday, May 23, 2009

Big race day in Wheeling!  They have the big race - the 20K and the smaller 5K.  You can walk or run in both.  The 5K is 3.1 miles.  Susan decided to run it this year.  She ran the mile last year with Nick.  I was really proud of her!  Out of 345 people she finished #162 - running the 3.1 miles in 32:56 minutes.  These are hard runs.  One of the reasons Wheeling is so popular for these races are the hills.  Here are her photos.  One when she was waiting for the race to start, one running down the last hill towards the finish line, and the last crossing the finish line.

I worked for Jerald today doing some of my old job  - his office manager was unable to work and payroll was today.  I don't have a photo of that though I have more interesting photos.

Every year in Wheeling on Memorial weekend they have races.  People come from all over the world to run in these races.  On Friday they have small races for children - even tiny tots.  For the 7 - 12 age group they have the fun run.  It's a mile long.  Last year Nick ran for the first time and won.  I can't remember his exact time but he did it on less this year.  He did the mile in 6:11 minutes and came in fourth this year.  He was still way in front of the pack.  Here's a photo of just before he crossed the finish line and right afterwards!

We came across this camper for sale.  Rick and I have talked about getting a motorhome and traveling around.  We are torn between putting the money out for that or selling our old oversized house and moving to a smaller and less costly to maintain place.  We really can't do both.  Decisions, decisions and choices.  We'll probably go back and try to see the inside of this one if it's not sold next week.  It's a 2002 model with only 16,000 miles on it.  I guess the price is reasonable for the year and mileage but I'd like it to be less - a lot less!

Wow!  Vet visits are almost as expensive as my doctor visits.  Katie's checkup and drugs for her eye and ear infections - $220.70.  Just for a checkup and two vaccinations.  Of course, they'll call me next week if anything else shows up in the fecal and blood work.  Let's hope not.

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Katie waiting on me & Rick during one of our walks.  She got her first ear infection last week and goes to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations tomorrow.

I got a new flag to put out front.

Sunday May 17, 2009

I see these beautiful rhododendron bushes at one of the neighbors when I walk Katie.  I tried to grow one but it never did well so we took it out and gave it to Susan.  It does really well at her house.

Photos for week 20

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Gas prices are on the rise again.  I may regret trying to keep track of rising prices in my 365 book.  I may end up with a book full of photos of gas prices.

I saw this  license plate in the Walmart parking lot.  I thought it was really cute!!

A photo of Cheyanne during her soccer game.  This is the first game of hers that we’ve been to this season.

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

My daylilies in the backyard bloomed this week.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

We attended Sarah’s soccer game again on Tuesday night.  You’ll probably see a lot of soccer photos this season.  This one is of part of Sarah’s team lining up to shake hands with the other team at the end of the game.

The Fosteria glass plant was located in Moundsville in 1891 until it’s closing in 1986.  They’ve been working on tearing the plant down for the last year or so.  I thought I’d take a photo of the old plant before it’s gone for good.

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Susan and I went for a Mother’s Day brunch at the hospital where she works on Saturday.  It was beautifully decorated and the food was great.  They gave each of the mother’s a plant and a reed fragrance diffuser.  It was a really nice outing.

Pictures for week 19

Saturday, May 9, 2009

We have strawberry plants all along the outside of the fence on one side. Rick loves strawberries so one year I bought some plants to put in a barrel for him. I bought all June bearing plants. Of course they quickly outgrew the barrel and are now planted outside the fence. During the month of June we have strawberry shortcake every day. This year will probably be no different judging by the number of flowers on the plants.

Cheyanne visited with us while Susan and Sarah were at the soccer game. Of course, the picture has been edited. I’m brushing up on my photo editing skills. I smoothed out her skin and brightened her eyes.

More flowers from the back yard. I have not idea what they are just that they’re pretty. They could even be weeds for all I know. If so, someone please let me know!!!

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

A view of Katie’s paws. She usually is spread out so you can’t get all four of them in the same photo. Since she was just groomed yesterday and Beth trimmed most of the hair away, they look about one-third of their regular size.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Katie went to the groomers again today. She goes every five weeks. She really needs to go about every four but she hates it so much. Beth, her groomer, does a fantastic job. I caught this as they were coming from the back room. Of course, Katie is pulling for all she is worth to get out of there.

Monday, May 4, 2009

My azalea bush came out in full bloom this week. It’s twenty years old and doesn’t grow any larger but gets more blooms every year. you’ll notice the color matches the shutters on the front of my house!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

Susan called Saturday night and said the grandkids wanted Rick to take them fishing. That in itself is unusual so he was thrilled to take them. They spent most of the afternoon fishing. Sarah got bored quickly but Cheyanne and Nick caught about 20 fish between them.

Week 18 Photos

I got some different photos this week. I can't believe it's the first of May already.  The year seems to be flying by.

Saturday, May 2, 2009

I watched two male cardinals chase each other for a long time in the back yard.  I was only able to get a photo of one of them.

Friday, May 1, 2009

Ran over the the mall to pick up some things and came across some friends at Sam's Club.  Tom and Kim have been friends for a long time.  They spend the winters in Florida and have only been back for a few weeks.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

The last day of April. How different things are this year from last.  Last year I was spending most of my time in Chillicothe staying at Rob's house and spending the days with Mom at the nursing home.  This year Rick and I have to hunt for something to do at times.  We went for drive this afternoon just to get out and came across these darlings.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

We have a pair of morning doves hanging around the yard.  They are probably the ones who left the egg last week.  I'd love to see the nest but I have no idea where it would be.

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

We were supposed to take all three grandkids to Cheyanne's soccer game but it was pouring rain.  I went to Susan's to stay with the kids while she and Mike went out.  I got a photo of Luna their cat.  She's a beautiful cat but she hides most of the time.

Monday, April 27, 2009

Soccer season has started.  We went to watch Sarah play.  This is her second year.

Sunday, April 26, 2009

As we were out and about I noticed the gas prices had gone up again.  Of course, it's summer!  I wonder how high they will go this year.  I think it will be interesting to track how they rise.  Most of the stations here charge the same price.  I think they have regular meetings about what to charge!
