I’m running late with my photos and layouts this week.  I’m trying to use the laptop and it’s a different look than my desktop.  Also since I sit in the living room, I’m watching the tv more and doing less scrapping so it takes more time!!!

We’ve been having some rain.  This morning I got up just in time the see the sunrise – at least what you can see of it from the back porch.  A crow landed on one of the telephone poles giving me a nice silhouette.

When I first started this project, I thought take a photo a day – nothing to it.  Well, there is something.  It gets harder and harder.  I have snapped photos of the dog, Rick, plants, anything I can think of that might be interesting.  Who wants a book of boring photos.  Now it’s getting to be a real challenge to find something interesting to take a photo of.  Now I’m reduced to taking photos of things around the house that I like.  I’m know I don’t want to see a photo of every movie I watch, or every meal I eat.  Today’s photo is the little things we sit around the back yard.  Subject – watering cans.  These are ceramic or stoneware.  I’m not sure where he got them but they are really cute!

This is a house about a block from me.  I love  the architecture on it.  It’s extremely old and has be allowed to deteriorate.  As long as I can remember businesses have been located in it and there has been no improvement except a coat of paint on the outside.  Now it sits empty and for sale.  I wish someone would buy it and fix it up.  It is really unique.

The tulips are blooming! All over the neighborhood I see tulips.  I have one and it hasn’t bloomed yet.  I’d like to have more but never seem to get around to buying and planting them.

A rare glimpse of our new (it was a year old November) car.  Rick was cleaning it up.  It doesn’t come out of the garage very often.  I tease him about it all the time.  He says I can use it anytime but I haven’t put him to the test.  I drove it alot when I was traveling back and forth to Chillicothe OH when I was helping with Mom, but not much since.  I think the last time was in October when our friends were here.

This cute decoration was still up.  I tried to take a photo of it sooner but it was too far away.  The bunny is at least 5 ft. tall.  She also had wooden eggs placed through her yard.  It was really cute.

Easter Sunday April 12, 2009

I’m really late getting these posted.  I’ve been messing with my laptop trying to get programs and files transferred and finding what works with Vista and what doesn’t.  More on that later.

Susan’s family came down for Easter dinner.  I always give the kids a little something.  I didn’t get photos of everyone at dinner but I at least got photos of the kids  outside later.  It was a nice day – a little cool but the sun was shining!

This is what I gave them for Easter.  They have to be identical or they fight!

We rented Marley and Me to watch.  I wanted to go see it at the movies during Christmas but I heard it was really sad and I didn't want to bawl my eyes out in public.  It's bad enough to do it in front of Rick at home.  Well I did cry but it was a great movie and really funny.  I loved it!  If you haven't seen it, watch it!

Another cocker spaniel!! His name is Bandit and he belongs to someone Rick worked with.  Katie and I run into him on our walks alot.  He's very friendly and very large for a cocker.  He's really very pretty!

 

Wednesday April 8, 2009

Big day today!! We went to the Highlands mall to do some shopping and have dinner at the Olive Garden.  I got a new pillow to replace the one Katie chewed up over a year ago (I haven't scrapped that yet, but getting close) and a new laptop!! I'm really excited!  Of course I love computers and my desktop is giving me some trouble.  Also I really have withdrawal really bad when we travel and I don't have a computer.  It's a Toshiba Satellite 305.  It has 4 gigs of ram, a 320 gb hard drive, with some bells and whistles.   It has Vista 64 bit on it - I'm not sure I'll like that but we'll see.  Bad photo but was taken after dark.

Winter is back!  I took this about 7 am in the morning when I got up.  It was pretty chilly.  The weeping cherry tree in the yard looks so out of place blooming in the snow!

Saturday April 4

The weeping cherry tree in the backyard has started blooming.  This may be the last year for it.  It's gotten too large and is ruining our backyard and the pond so Rick says he may cut it down.  I'll miss how pretty it is but we'll find something to plant in it's place!  I was practicing my macro photography on this photo.

Friday April 3

It's finished!!  I finally got the St. Patrick's day table topper finished.  I think I'll be smarter and start on the halloween one next so I have plenty of time to get it done! I'll have to use this one next year!

Thursday April 2

We were watched constantly when we sat outside on the deck.  This little fellow was very interested in us! He lives in the apartment out back but will soon be moving to house where I hope he gets a nice yard!

Wednesday April 1

We had dinner with my oldest friend in Moundsville.  I meet Renee(Sis) 39 years ago when I first moved here.  We were both still teenagers then!

 

Tuesday March 31

I was outside watching the birds line up on the fence to be feed.  Any time we go outside the sparrows just flock to the fence and start chirping hoping we'll feed them.

 

 

Monday March 30

I took an early morning picture of our downtown main street while I was walking Katie. Nothing in the downtown area is open until 10 am.

Spring is starting to arrive.  The small peach tree in our side yard is putting out a few blossoms.
