More Week 26 Photos

Saturday, June 27, 2009

Susan, Mike, and the kids came back from Yellowstone last night.  Now I can take the noisy bird home.  Really, it wasn’t too bad, I have gotten use to it but it still makes a big mess, seeds everywhere.  When we took it home, we found that Susan had dyed her red hair black.  It doesn’t even look like her.

An old fire truck I think – or a truck made into a fire truck.

Thursday, June 25, 2009

I may be a little slow with blog posts for a while.  I told Anna (my hairdresser) I’d make a Shutterfly book for her.  That’s twenty layouts and front and back covers. Usually I spend a couple of months on a project this big, but she wants it by August so it will be some intense work for me.  Here are a couple of turkeys we spotted from the road.  They were a good distance away even with the zoom lens.

We went for a drive and instead of making Katie ride in the cage.  We left the door open so she could stand on the seat and look out the window.  Instead, she wanted in the front seat with us.  This is a photo of her trying to get in front and us determined she’s staying in back.

I spotted these flowers at the library when I was walking Katie.  Love them!  Aren’t they beautiful?

Monday, June 22, 2009

Since Sunday was such a long day, thought I’d break this post up.  Look at these cute little pots!

Week 26 Photos

Wow half the year has gone already.  Sometimes it seems like it flew and then others seem so slow.   I have lots of photos this week.  We are trying to stay more active and get out more instead of being house hermits.  I think we went somewhere every day this week which is unusual for us!!

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Jerald (my ex-boss) and his wife wanted us to go "tracking" with them.  They took the top off their tracker and we visited the back roads around fish creek.  Some people live there year round and some just have camps.  The places I took photos of were just camps.

First we crossed this old bridge that I wasn't sure wouldn't collapse when we crossed it.

Then we stopped at one of the downtown store owner's camp and I took a photo of his beaver!!

Then we headed up and over one of the ridges and found this abandoned building

Next we passed this cute little cabin!

Last we visited one of the local doctor's hunting camps.

He gave us a weather report and let us use one of the outhouses!!

Lastly a photo of Jerald and Rick by the tracker.

Week 25 Photos

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Here we are on the trail again.  This time with the bikes.  I couldn’t go more than a  couple of miles.  It will take some work to get back to going the whole five miles.

Friday, June 19, 2009

This is about all you see of Katie these days.  She’s constantly hunting for bunnies!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Rick bought me a new bicycle.  This one has 21 speeds and fits me better.  He bought me one a few years ago but it only had 7 speeds.  When you’re riding with other people who have 21 speeds and are going up hills it makes it a bit easier – especially if you don’t have the leg power.  I don’t like the photo of me but as I told Rick, this is what I look like so here it is.  I also had to get a new router for my computers.  My old b speed one has had it’s day!

Wednesday, June 17,2009

We have a really nice walking and biking trail. It runs along the Ohio River.  Rick and I walked a couple of miles on it this morning.  Here’s one of the views from the trail.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

We went to the Mexican restaurant and had dinner with good friends – Tim & Debbie Krantz.  They are always fun to be with and we have a great time.

Monday, June 15, 2009

Rick & I took Katie and went to Oglebay Park for a walk.  While we were sitting on a bench and enjoying the day, this trolley came by.  We brought Katie back to the house and went to the Olive Garden for a nice dinner.

Sunday, June 14, 2009

I took a photo of the back yard.  It looks pretty nice.  The grass is nice and green and the flowers are growing.  I don’t take any credit for this.  It’s mostly Rick’s work.

Week 24 Photos

June 13, 2009

Years ago I bought about five June bearing strawberry plants for Rick.  He loves strawberries.  They have now spread out the whole length of fence in our backyard.  We have enough strawberries for us and the bunnies!

June 12, 2009

I had to go and have x-rays of my back and shoulder.  I may have a pinched nerve in my back but I think I'm just getting old and the bones are starting to tell me so!

June 11, 2009

Got a photo of one of the baby bunnies.  They are really fast but this one was hiding.

June 10, 2009

I love this photo!  The pigeons always come after the bird seed and this guy made it into one of the smaller feeders.  You can tell he just fits.

June 9, 2009

This is Anna  - my hairdresser.  She's been coloring and cutting my hair for years now.  I've been trying to get her picture since the first of the year and she finally let me take one!!

June 8, 2009

Susan, Mike, and the kids went on vacation so we are keeping their bird. It's  makes lots of noise and is very messy!! I love birds but don't think I would want another one!

June 7, 2009

We have a mother and baby bunnies again.  I was able to get this shot of the mother today.

Week 23 Photos

Saturday, June 6, 2009

I got up this morning and the pump in the pond wasn't running.  I thought maybe it was just clogged but Rick said it's worn out.  He had to go buy a new one and put it in the pond.  He also got a new filter to go with it.  I don't envy him climbing in that cold pond water.  It's also not the cleanest around.  I used to climb in it the first few years and move the lilies around but not anymore.  We have filters and even a uv light to try and keep the water clear but to no avail.

Friday, June 5, 2009

I've been waiting for the new JD Robb book.  I love Nora Roberts but especially the Death series she writes under JD Robb.  I also picked up a Lisa Gardner book.  Mom and I used to buy different books and then trade them.  I really miss being able to do that.  Just miss Mom period, but we always spent a lot of time talking about the books we had read.  Every time I pick up a book I think about her.

Thursday, June 4, 2009

My pond lilies are starting to bloom.

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

I had to make a visit to the family doctor for various reasons.  I'm going to have to make a return visit for my shoulder (can just barely raise my arm above my head), and back (pinched nerve) I think.  I've been going to the same doctor for over 20 years now so his staff  are old friends! Holly (one in front) cried with me when I lost Molly, my first cocker.  She's an animal lover too!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Doesn't seem like it should be June already.  Time just flies by sometimes.  This is a photo of the clematis in the yard.  Of course it rained and was very windy the next day and all the flowers are now gone.  It was very pretty while it lasted.

Monday, June 1, 2009

This was Cheyanne's last soccer game.  They played the St. Clairsville team.  They have never beaten these girls.  The St. C. field is larger than our field which puts them at a disadvantage to start.  Cheyanne's team put forth lots of effort but just couldn't win.  You can see it in their faces.  A big letdown for the end of the season.
